The ride started 9-11-2004 as a 1000 mile motorcycle ride to PA. from Saluda NC. There was also a 250 mile ride
on the same day. Now the event has transformed into two annual fundraisers and a block party for Open Arms. We
maintain the name Saluda1000 because we have good name recognition, websites and emails. Now we tend to look at it as
1000 smiles and 250 friends.
